A Message from our Chairwoman

Chamber Members,

April showers bring May flowers, the saying goes. While I’d rather not discuss what most of Lewis County woke up to weather-wise May 1, I think the saying works as an apt metaphor for the work Chamber leadership has completed over the last month(s).

In February we started a Strategic Planning process, utilizing the expertise of Christie Andrus-Nakano and Human Factor Leadership. I’ve been through Strategic Planning processes with a few organizations now and let me tell you: it FEELS like April showers sometimes. It’s uncomfortable, sometimes you get mired in the mud and you have to make the decision to open or close roads due to water levels. (I’m not selling this well for you yet, Christie, but I’m getting there)

It took a number of grueling/exciting sessions, but I am beyond excited for the clarity we achieved through this process and the vision we can now chase. Staff were asking for defined direction, and I think they have that now. Board members, myself included, know where we can support and assist. The membership will be better served. We will be a better Tourism Promotion Agency.

We are BLOOMING starting in May.

Look for more from your Executive Director, Kristen very soon. In the meantime, we’d love to hear from you, as always!

Stay well,

Cheyenne Steria

Chairwoman, Lewis County Chamber of Commerce
