Using the SOAR Model to Plan

The SOAR model looks at Strengths, Opportunities, Aspirations and Results. This is a strengths-based approach embedded in the field of Appreciative Inquiry. When used instead of a SWOT analysis, SOAR launches planning from a position of what already works well and what organizations can aspire to rather than focusing on weaknesses and threats. The workshop will introduce SOAR and strengths-based thinking, and provide exercises that nonprofits can employ to determine strategic pathways.
