This free, one-day event is an opportunity to help Beaver Camp prepare for another summer of ministry with work projects for all ages beginning at 9AM. In the afternoon, have some fun on the Challenge Course, beach, and more. They will finish with a celebratory dinner at 5pm. It’s a great day for families, community organizations, and youth groups!

Cornell Cooperative Extension of Jefferson County will be hosting a free webinar, Calves 101: Starting Them Right, on Wednesday, March 24th, 2021 from 7:00pm-8:00pm. Veterans and Military families are welcome and encouraged to attend!

Springtime is a common time of year when we welcome new life onto the
farm. When it comes to calves, starting them off right is critical in order to
reach their full growth potential. This introductory online class, through
Zoom, will go over the basics on best management practices in raising
beef and dairy calves from start to weaning.

Cornell Cooperative Extension of Jefferson County and its partners will conduct a free Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) webinar. Presenters will provide information on the EAB beetle, its expected impact on ash trees throughout Jefferson County, how and when to protect your ash trees, and ways to improve the resiliency of your forest and landscape trees from future invasive species.


Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Lewis County Hospital Foundation’s signature fundraising event, the Gala, will be held virtually again this year. The Virtual Gala will be held from Monday, April 5 –Saturday, April 17 and will include a rolling silent auction, buy it now items and a “Facebook Live” on the final day of the event.


Prepare to be a Notary Public with Jefferson Community College at the Lewis County Extension.

Gain a comprehensive understanding of the authority, duties and responsibilities of the Notary Public Office. Topics include avoiding conflicts of interest, maintaining professional ethics, charging proper fees, handling special situations, when to defer to an attorney, and minimizing legal liability. An 80 question practice exam is included.

Cornell Cooperative Extension of Jefferson County is hosting a speed-dating style event to connect farmers and food buyers in the North Country and share some information on relationship-building, problem-solving and help demystify the process to encourage local food processing. If you have any chefs, food buyers, farmers or producers who would be interested in attending, we would appreciate if you could share this information with them!
